User Community

Each customer of the Mifos X platform is an integral part of our community where their voice is heard in influencing the product roadmap, they can connect and share knowledge with our global user base, access certified local support, and fully own their technology.

Support Ecosystem

We grow and certify a network of Mifos Partners, social businesses dedicated to providing technology and consulting services for financial inclusion. Partners are the direct connection to the user and are responsible for leading adoption of Mifos X and building new market-driven solutions.

Volunteer Network

We are amassing a network of volunteers who through our common technology platform can directly serve those at the Base of the Pyramid.  Opportunities abound at every level of the platform and initiative to strengthen our platform, enable adoption of our product, and grow our community and initiative.

The Mifos Initiative provides the centralized collaboration, coordination, and communication infrastructure for every member of the community to effectively contribute to the project.

Volunteer Engagement

We continuously work to grow our community of technical and non-technical volunteers. The Mifos Initiative is a leading part of the rising humanitarian free and open source software (HFOSS) movement . We will partner with other peer organizations and corporate partners, speak at events, and educate technology professionals on the opportunity to serve the poor through our project.

We sustain the community processes and collaboration channels to connect our volunteers directly with our users so they can identify the challenge at hand and deliver the critical solution needed. We mentor each volunteer and ensure their contributions are maintained and shared globally with our entire community.

Shared Ownership

Collectively we as a community own the Mifos X platform and guide its success and long-term viability. Each user helps to shape the direction of the product, our partners are the primary ambassadors of the Mifos X platform, and our volunteers extend the platform. Mifos Initiative through its Community Code of Conduct, Partner Council, and Local Chapters, fosters a welcoming culture, provides a participatory governance structure for individuals to lead the community, and the opportunity to grow their local community.

New Business Models

Our open source community-driven development and distribution  promotes new business models that create and share value across our community rather than capture and contain it within one organization. In response to user demand, partners can sustainably provide support and service of Mifos X itself or build and distribute their own unique solutions on the platform. The core platform always remains open and partners are compelled to contribute back so their innovation is shared and maintained by the community.
